Shaanxi province's first specialized smart production line for spaceborne laser communication started operation on Thursday in Xi'an, capital city of the province.
The production line is the result of over two decades of dedicated research and development by the Xi'an Institute of Optics and Precision Mechanics (XIOPM) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with its commercial aerospace platform, Xi'an Zhongke TianTa Technology Co Ltd (Zhongke TianTa). Together, they have successfully bridged the full spectrum of laser communication, from research innovation and engineering production to in-orbit intelligence.
Following the breakthrough in core technologies from "zero to one" in spaceborne laser communication, the new production line will significantly enhance the autonomous operation, efficient networking, and large-scale constellation management capabilities of satellites.
Zhongke TianTa, as a specialized industrial platform in the commercial aerospace sector, is tasked with scaling these technologies from "one to many".
The company has already developed mass-producible spaceborne laser communication terminals and in-orbit intelligent systems. It has also initiated the full-network internal testing of its "HuaShan" aerospace vertical large model, facilitating the integration of space optoelectronic hardware with aerospace intelligent algorithms. This provides comprehensive technical and application support for satellite-wide "intelligent space driving".
