Upgraded to a national 5A-level scenic area in February 2024, Qiankun Bay is the core zone of the Yellow River Shequ National Geological Park. It features a 320-degree natural Taiji-shaped river bend, forming the largest, most complete, and best-preserved meandering landform along the Yellow River’s main course.

Renowned as the "most iconic bend of the Yellow River", Qiankun Bay stands out for its distinctive natural scenery and deep cultural heritage. The area integrates geological education, red heritage tours, ecological sightseeing, and local cultural experiences, while leveraging digital technologies and live performances to enhance visitor engagement.

It offers an immersive, smart tourism experience that showcases the Yellow River’s ecological value and cultural significance, and traces the roots of Chinese civilization—making it a model of culture-tourism integration in the Yellow River basin.

At the main Qiankun Bay viewing platform, visitors can take in a 320-degree Taiji-shaped bend of the Yellow River, overlooking its winding course framed by mountains and water in a sweeping natural panorama.

The Qiankun Bay Museum showcases the formation of the river's meandering landforms over millions of years through cultural relics, visuals, and geological models, alongside insights into local folk culture and ecological protection efforts.

At the "Flying over the Yellow River" 5D cinema, immersive audio-visual technology traces the river's journey from source to sea, highlighting its vast scale, powerful flow, and striking natural beauty.

This holiday, Qiankun Bay will roll out a series of cultural and interactive experiences, including a "Qiankun Discovery" stamp-collecting trail with NPC interactions. A full-day program of folk performances will feature northern Shaanxi drum shows, storytelling, folk songs, and yangko dance, alongside hands-on intangible heritage experiences such as paper-cutting and cloth paste painting.

Visitors can also enjoy a bustling local food market showcasing northern Shaanxi specialties, as well as a themed exhibition at the Red Army Eastern Expedition Memorial Hall featuring Mao-style calligraphy. Special ticket packages and a dedicated shuttle service from Yan'an to the scenic area are also available, providing added convenience for holiday travel.

Looking ahead, Qiankun Bay Scenic Area will continue to develop Yellow River culture, red heritage, and local traditions, enhancing tourism products and integrating new experiences to enrich visitor offerings. It will further promote the Yellow River's heritage and strengthen its profile as a key destination in the region.
