Dongfeng Motor Group has set an ambitious sales target of 3.25 million vehicles in 2026, including 1.7 million NEVs and 600,000 exports, the State-owned automaker said in Beijing on Saturday.

Last year, the company recorded sales of 2.47 million units, with NEVs reaching 1.05 million — representing a year-on-year growth of 21 percent. Self-owned brands contributed significantly to this success, with sales surpassing 1.5 million units, accounting for over 60 percent of the group's total sales.

Central to achieving this year's target is broadening its product portfolio. Yijing, a brand developed with Huawei, is set to debut its inaugural model in March. Meanwhile, M-Hero, Dongfeng's intelligent off-road vehicle brand, will launch its new U-series lineup. The Voyah brand plans to introduce various new models by 2026, including ones from its H series, the Taishan Ultra and the X8 SUVs.

Several passenger car brands under Dongfeng Motor have cultivated robust partnerships with Huawei, with collaborations extending beyond Yijing to include brands such as eπ, Voyah, and M-Hero.

Yang Yanding, the group's newly appointed spokesperson, emphasized that technological innovation will remain the primary driver of Dongfeng's development.

The company has established a comprehensive innovation system across its operations. With plans for an R&D investment intensity of 7.9 percent by 2025, Yang revealed that Dongfeng sees 2026 as a pivotal year for implementing advanced technologies.

Specific breakthroughs are on the horizon, including the large-scale application of the next-generation Mahle Power system and the high-performance DF30 chip.

The T200 intelligent driving system is to see widespread use, the T500 system is expected to enter mass production, and advanced technologies such as the Tianyuan intelligent cabin's agent system will be operational.
