Muskan Saif Khan, a Pakistani PhD student at Tianjin University, recorded the performance on her phone as drums thundered and lions leapt across the stage. "This is my third Spring Festival in China," she said, "and I get a new surprise every time."
Beyond the performances, the museum curated a range of intangible cultural heritage activities. At the Chinese New Year Painting Area, guides explained the folk stories behind traditional New Year prints.
