JERUSALEM -- Chinese automaker Xpeng Motors launched an ultra-fast charging network across Israel on Sunday.

The network was announced in the central city of Rishon LeZion, together with Xpeng's official importer in Israel, Freesbe, in the presence of Xpeng Motors Chairman He Xiaopeng and Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen.

Equipped with high-power chargers manufactured by Star Charge, a leading Chinese company in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the stations utilize smart technology for dynamic power management, enabling precise alignment between vehicle requirements and charging capabilities.

The network will be accessible to all electric vehicle brands and will provide rapid charging from 10 percent to 80 percent in under 20 minutes.

Xpeng currently offers the G6 and G9 mid-size crossover SUVs and the P7 executive sedan in Israel.

Between January and August this year, Xpeng ranked second in electric car sales in Israel, delivering 5,076 units, just behind Chinese manufacturer BYD Auto, which sold 5,912 units during the same period.
