This delicate famille-rose plate dates back to the second year of the Yongzheng reign (1724) in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Its pure white glaze is adorned with lotus flowers and emerald green leaves dancing in the breeze — a glimpse of summer scenery.
On its base, a rare inscription reads "ernian shi yihao yang" (second year, test sample No 2), identifying it as a trial piece submitted for the emperor's personal review.
Now housed in Tianjin Museum, this plate offers invaluable insight into the craftsmanship of early Yongzheng famille-rose ceramics.
