The Taihao Mausoleum Temple Fair is recognized as the largest and oldest folk temple fair in China, drawing a massive turnout. It attracts a regular daily flow of 200,000 visitors, and set a Guinness World Record in 2008 for the highest single-day attendance of 825,000 visitors. This traditional Chinese folk event is a unique blend of ancestral rites, traditional song and dance, entertainment and commerce, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of China.
Taihao, also known as Fuxi, is a revered figure in Chinese mythology considered the ancestor of humanity. Taihao and Nyuwa are believed to have initiated the human race, according to the Chinese mythology.
