The Chrysanthemum Culture Festival of Kaifeng, initiated in 1983 as a provincial event, has steadily grown in influence, culminating in its elevation to a national level event in 2013. The festival features a diverse array of cultural and economic activities, including a national calligraphy competition and a Henan provincial crosstalk competition.

During the festival, the city turns into a land of chrysanthemum flowers. Millions of pots of chrysanthemums are exhibited, with new varieties displayed. The event promotes the opening and sharing of park green spaces, further enhancing residents' happiness and contributing to Kaifeng’s accelerated development as an "International Famous Tourism City" and a "World Cultural Metropolis".
