On June 21, the Shanxi Puju Opera Troupe performed Mukezhai (Muke Stockade Village) at the Pujing Yuan Theatre in Yuncheng, Shanxi province. The play is based on a captivating excerpt from The Generals of the Yang Family.
Puju Opera, also referred to as Puzhou Clapper Opera, is a form of traditional Chinese operas originating from southern Shanxi. It has a strong connection to Qinqiang Opera.
