The Puju Opera piece Lord Guan and Diaochan was staged in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, on July 12. The work is set in the Three Kingdoms period (220-280), and depicts the romantic entanglement between the military general Guan Yu (161-220) of the Shu Kingdom and Diaochan, a figure from folklore.
