Brose is committed to pursuing long-term development in China, said an executive in charge of the German auto supplier's operations in the country on Monday.

"China is the world's largest vehicle market and one of the most vibrant hubs of innovations across the globe," said Jenny Xiang, president of Brose China.

She made the remarks after a group meeting in Shanghai with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is on a three-day visit in China.

"We will continue exploring our long-term growth in China," said Xiang, adding that the company will try to help with the automotive sector's upgrade with better products, prices and services.

Brose entered the Chinese market in 1996. Now it has around 4,200 employees in the country. Last year, the group's revenue in the country accounted for one-fifth of its global total.

Brose is one of the five largest family-owned automotive suppliers in the world. Today, roughly one in three new vehicles features at least one of Brose's products. The group generated a turnover of around 7.9 billion euros ($8.4 billion) in 2023.
