Check out this Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC) bronze zun (wine vessel) in the shape of a crouching rabbit. Its forelimbs touch the ground and hindlimbs are bent. The hollow rabbit belly serves as a container. There is a rectangular opening on its back, covered by a lid with a round knob. Various patterns appear on both sides of the rabbit’s body.
Unearthed from the tomb of the Marquis of the Jin State in 1992, the zun vessel is in the permanent collection of the Shanxi Museum.
