The Bai ethnic cloth toy in Jianchuan county is a time-honored Yunnan intangible cultural heritage. The stuffed pendants are made using colorful cloth, with herbs like wormwood stuffed inside. They are hung around children’s necks during Dragon Boat Festival to drive out evil spirits and wish for happy lives.
This adorable rabbit-shaped stuffed cloth pendant is a fine example. It is part of the permanent collection of the Yunnan Nationalities Museum.
