The Huaibei Bangzi Opera piece The Youth Age made its debut at the Yaodu Grand Theater in Bozhou, Anhui, on Sept 21. The production sheds light on the lives of Chen Yannian (1898-1927) and Chen Qiaonian (1902-28), revolutionary martyrs in the 1920s who were dedicated to Communism.
Prevailing in Anhui province, the Huaibei Bangzi Opera features a lively and passionate style of theater art.
