Vehicles are no longer cold machines as they were used to be. On Tuesday, Great Wall Motors' premium Wey brand showcased how smart its Mocha SUV can be.

One impressive thing was that it can detect the driver's face and tell his or her mood and respond by playing different music accordingly.

That was enabled by the model's class-leading computing capacity thanks to Qualcomm's class-leading SnapDragon 8155 chip.

Wey said the model is industry leading in terms of smart architecture, smart driving, learning abilities and performance.

Among other things, it sports the auto-grade 5G and V2X hardware, the auto-grade lidar, the augmented-reality head-up display as well as the Level 3 autonomous driving domain controller.

Those things have made it capable of parking itself, which could be an intimidating job for many new drivers.

ADAS functions on high ways are possible as well. Liu Pengkai, a product manager of the Mocha SUV, said three level of autonomous driving capabilities are planned.

Of them the most advanced one is called High Way Piloting, which enables the vehicle to spot other vehicles, overtake them or change lanes automatically.

Liu said the function will be available within the year. The other two lower-level functions have been ready.
