Jinyan'an showcases festive charm, bolsters holiday cultural tourism in Yan’an

Jinyan'an Scenic Area in Yan'an has launched a series of immersive cultural events for the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, integrating traditional rituals, Song-dynasty aesthetics, northern Shaanxi folk customs, Red performances, and night-time light shows to create diverse and engaging tourism experiences.

The festive celebration kicked off with an elegant Mid-Autumn moon-viewing gathering. To the melody of ancient music, tourists participated in time-honored rituals and prayed for good fortune. The scenic area also distributed mooncakes and festive blessings, conveying the traditional cultural essence of reunion and harmony. Graceful dance performances blended artistic lighting and vivid stage scenes to interpret classic Mid-Autumn legends, fully embodying oriental aesthetic charm.

A rich array of cultural shows was performed throughout the holiday, including traditional Chinese dance, ancient costume parades, and the immersive stage drama "A Song Dynasty Wedding". Local folk performances such as northern Shaanxi yangko, folk storytelling, and folk songs were also presented alternately. The perfect integration of classical elegance and regional folk customs created a unique scenery and a strong festive ambiance across the scenic spot.

Nighttime celebrations showcased the holiday vitality. A lively bonfire bubble party and spectacular musical fireworks show illuminated the night sky. The dazzling combination of fireworks and light art elevated the immersive night tourism experience to new heights.

Inheriting Yan'an's profound Red heritage, the scenic area staged two classic revolutionary-themed plays — Thirteen Years in Yan'an and Yan'an Nursery School. The performances vividly reproduced touching stories and extraordinary revolutionary history, enabling audiences to review revolutionary traditions and carry forward the Yan'an spirit through immersive viewing.

To stimulate holiday consumption and enrich visitor experiences, the scenic area rolled out preferential lucky draw activities and interactive mooncake DIY workshops, allowing tourists to experience the warmth of traditional reunion culture through hands-on activities.

Running from September 25 to October 7, the dual-festival event features ongoing Red theatrical performances, folk cultural shows, night light displays, and parent-child interactive experiences. By offering one-stop diversified travel services, Jinyan'an Scenic Area continues to energize Yan'an's holiday cultural tourism market and fuel regional high-quality tourism development.
