Crafted from hundreds of turquoise pieces and six gold plaques, this double-bodied dragon-shaped ornament is among the earliest gold-and-jade inlay artifacts discovered in the Central Plain cultural tradition of China.

Unearthed in 2014 from a Shang Dynasty (c. 16th century-11th century BC) tomb at Panlongcheng site in Huangpi district, Wuhan, Hubei province, it vividly reflects the spiritual world and artistic imagination of ancient people. Collection: Panlongcheng Site Museum.
