As the May Day holiday draws near, Huaqing Palace in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, has enriched its cultural tourism offerings and energized the holiday tourism market. This holiday, the scenic spot has deeply integrated Yang Yuhuan-themed performances, the Twelve Flower Gods Parade and on-site script interactive entertainment, breaking the spatial-temporal boundaries of traditional sightseeing and injecting trendy new scenarios.
During the holiday, Huaqing Palace will launch the upgraded themed activity "I Am Yang Yuhuan". Dozens of performers, who recreate classic images of Yang Yuhuan from popular games and film and television works, are specially invited by the scenic spot as "time-travel guides" to interact with tourists face-to-face and take photos with them. Tourists can get exclusive "Tang Dynasty Flying Cash" by responding to secret codes and unlock interesting interactive games in the Tang Palace.
Meanwhile, the immersive performance of the Twelve Flower Gods will be staged at fixed times every day, reproducing the lively spring outing scene of the Shangsi Festival in the Tang Dynasty (618-907). "Flower-bestowing Gentlemen" will present flowers and blessings to tourists, capturing the limited beautiful moments of spring. A restored Tang-style curtain banquet will also be arranged for the event, where tourists can admire flowers, play chess, gather for elegant chats and fully immerse themselves in the Tang Dynasty elegance of "holding banquets under curtain canopies and strolling for spring scenery".
Huaqing Palace will launch an original on-site script interactive game during this May Day holiday. Tourists can wander among cultural relics exhibition halls and the former sites of the Pear Garden, complete fun puzzle-solving tasks, trace the romantic past of the Tang Palace through scenario exploration, and unlock a new immersive historical cultural tourism mode. In addition, nearly 100 immersive mini-performances including a poetry competition, imperial examination and dance contest will be held throughout the scenic spot all day long, recreating the grandeur of the Tang Palace and the prosperity of Chang'an depicted in ancient poems.
The classic performance Song of Everlasting Sorrow will add four extra shows each night during the May Day holiday, and the immersive performance December 12th will be staged 12 times a day. In addition, the classic public welfare activity — free scenic spot entry for tourists who can recite Song of Everlasting Sorrow — will return as scheduled. Tourists can immerse themselves in the eternal charm of the classic poem while reciting it, promoting the dynamic inheritance of the prosperous Tang Dynasty's poetry culture.
