At the Shaanxi History Museum, the Tang Dynasty (618-907) music and dance mural from the tomb of official Han Xiu (673-740) captures a vibrant ancient performance in full swing.
The largest fully painted Tang music and dance mural discovered in recent years, it depicts a unique scene combining music, dance, and song, featuring both male and female ensembles – a one-of-a-kind find. In the mural, music of Han people from the Central Plain blends with that of Hu people from places along the Silk Road, like a 1,200-year-old cultural remix.
