Protected wild tulips emerge from Xinjiang mountain rocks

He explained that it takes four to five years for a wild tulip to bloom, and that each layer of the bulb’s skin represents a year of its age. As they’re among the first plants to bloom in early spring, they are key to the fragile ecological chain, providing food for many insects.
