The play Branches and Leaves, A Heart for the People: Zheng Banqiao brings Zheng Xie (1693-1766) to life. A renowned figure of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), Zheng is known for his bamboo paintings — upright and unyielding. He was also a compassionate official devoted to the people. This production reveals his integrity and humanity. Catch it on July 28 and 29 at the Zhuhai Grand Theatre in Zhuhai, Guangdong province.
