More than 100 oracle bones from the Yinxu site in Anyang, Henan province, are now on display at the Qingpu Museum in Shanghai. The inscriptions on the oracle bones – the earliest known systematic form of Chinese writing – record divinations by Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC) emperors and nobles, offering a fascinating glimpse into daily life and beliefs of a civilization from over 3,000 years ago.
