Nanjing Museum in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, has launched a special exhibition centered on its national treasure: a revolving covered vase with an imperial hunting scene of Emperor Qianlong (r. 1736-95).
The vase features a deep blue glaze and gold decoration on the outside. The body of the vase can rotate. Inside, a continuous famille-rose painting records the grand eastern inspection tour of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) emperor. Blending digital technology, this exhibition allows visitors to experience the artistry, craftsmanship, and historical resonance condensed in this single object.
