When Qi Baishi (1864-1957), a giant of the northern Chinese art scene, meets Fu Baoshi (1904-65), a trailblazer in the south, a momentous exhibition unfolds at the Hunan Provincial Museum. Bringing together paintings, seal carvings, and calligraphy, this exhibition traces the artistic lives and bold innovations of two modern masters. Together, their works illuminate a brilliant chapter in the modern transformation of Chinese painting.
