Xi'an's key scenic spots have launched a series of exclusive activities for this year's Spring Festival.
These include free admission for visitors born in the Year of the Horse, upgraded cultural performances, and themed interactive events, allowing residents and tourists to enjoy a fresh Spring Festival experience that blends ancient traditions with modern attractions.
People born in the Year of the Horse across the country can visit Silk Road Paradise and the Qinling Four Rare Animals Science Park for free with a valid ID card from now until March 3, and enjoy free admission to Huaqing Palace on Feb 21.
The 2026 edition ofThe Song of Everlasting Sorrowpremiered on Feb 1 at Huaqing Palace, featuring a full upgrade that created an immersive viewing experience. By optimizing the auditorium layout and enhancing digital control, seamless scene transitions were achieved.
The Twelve Hours in Chang'an Themed Block has launched over 100 immersive performances for visitors to enjoy as they stroll through the area. Winter-exclusive snowfall photo spots invite visitors inhanfu(traditional Chinese clothing) to experience the breathtaking rime-covered scenery of ancient Chang'an.
Xi'an's city sightseeing buses have introduced two special Spring Festival-themed liveries. The Tang (618–907) poetry-themed bus highlights Year of the Horse zodiac elements, blending Tang poetry with Silk Road culture. The Qin (221–206 BC) themed bus features a driver dressed as Emperor Qinshihuang (founder of the Qin Dynasty and the first emperor of a unified China) giving commentary along the journey, bringing Qin culture to life in an immersive way.
The third Silk Road Paradise Spring Festival Season will run from Feb 4 to March 3.Parades, children's theater, and puppet shows will fill the park with surprises, while exciting stage dramas, such as Sound of the Silk Road, will take tourists on a journey through time. The park will also host lucky draws and gift giveaways, ensuring endless fun.
At the Qinling Four Rare Animals Science Park, visitors are invited to celebrate the Chinese New Year amid pristine natural scenery and in the company of national treasures, including Qizai, the world's only captive brown giant panda.
