Weiyang Palace, the eastern starting point of the ancient Silk Road, has launched a digital Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD) palace experience and a Han culture exhibition, bringing millennia-old traditions to life for the Spring Festival.

On the premise of preserving history, the project uses digital technologies such as AR, VR, and XR, combined with cutting-edge methods like millimeter-level cultural relic scanning and AI motion capture to restore the architectural landscape of Weiyang Palace's front hall.

Centered on the story of Zhang Qian's mission to the Western Regions, the experience allows visitors to travel through the Hexi Corridor and witness the hardships of the Silk Road's opening in a 50-minute immersive storyline. The technology team has realized seamless switching between VR and AR experiences, providing a technical solution for the digital showcase of major heritage sites.

The Han culture exhibition features Han Dynasty cultural relics, presenting the layout and institutional norms of the Han Chang'an city (today's Xi'an) and outlining the development of the Han Dynasty's politics, economy, and culture. Visitors can uncover the "genetic code" of historical culture through the relics on display and experience the prosperity of the Han Dynasty. The exhibition complements the digital experience, enriching Xi'an's cultural and tourism offerings for the Spring Festival.

The events transform historical symbols such as the Weiyang Palace and the Silk Road into tangible, empathetic cultural experiences for the public. They cater to the public's desire to explore cultural roots and preserve heritage, making them a highlight of the Spring Festival celebrations.
