Starring Gulmina Memet, the dance drama Her Qiuci will premiere at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing from Jan 9 to 11. Reviving ancient murals, Silk Road music and Kucha dance traditions, the production bridges past and present through a powerful dialogue on cultural memory, loss and restoration.
Located in the west of today's Kucha city in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the Kingdom of Qiuci (Kucha) was a key hub along the ancient Silk Road, playing a vital role in linking trade and cultural exchanges between the East and West.
