The mesmerizing dance drama Qiuci will illuminate the Tianjin Grand Theatre on Dec 6 and 7, bringing to life the inspiring story of Kumarajiva (343–413) — the legendary Buddhist scholar whose Sanskrit-to-Chinese translations shaped centuries of thought. Set against the backdrop of Qiuci, or Kucha, an ancient Silk Road kingdom where Eastern and Western civilizations intertwined, the production promises a dazzling fusion of history, art and spiritual depth.
