How did ancient Chinese people light up the night? At Hebei Museum, the exhibition Illuminating Millennia: The Culture of Ancient Chinese Lamps traces the evolution of lighting in China. From the first bonfires of early humans to the diverse and ingenious lamps of successive dynasties, each glow tells a story. These lamps were more than tools — they embodied craftsmanship, ingenuity, and the artistic spirit of their age.
