The first time ever for the Palace Museum: Established as a museum
On Oct 10, 1925, the Palace Museum was established and officially opened its doors to the public.
A grand ceremony was held at the Gate of Heavenly Purity (Qianqing Men). Afterward, guests and crowds of citizens visited the palace halls, exploring ancient treasures once hidden from public view. It was a spectacular moment – the former imperial palace transformed from imperial property into a cultural landmark shared by all.
