A first for the Palace Museum: Establishing a board of directors and board of trustees
On Sept 29, 1925, the Committee for the Disposition of the Qing Imperial Household convened a meeting to begin organizing what would become the Palace Museum. The ad-hoc board of directors and board of trustees for the museum were officially established, with regulations approved to guide the institution.
Li Yuying (Li Shizeng, 1881-1973) was appointed as the first trustee president.
This moment marked the birth of the Palace Museum's modern management system, laying the foundation for a century-long journey of preserving China's cultural heritage.
