On Sunday, Zigui county in Yichang, Hubei province, hosted the Sanlyu Embroidery Skills Competition. Skilled embroiderers showcased their exquisite needlework, captivating many visitors.
Originating in the Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), Sanlyu embroidery features over ten stitching methods and four main techniques. With a “Government + Company + Artisan” model, Yichang has trained over 2,000 embroiderers to keep this cultural legacy alive.
