On Aug 28, the “Our Festival • Qixi” cultural event kicked off in Yunxi county, Shiyan, Hubei, under the theme “Dreams under the Starry River, United in Love for Home and Country”.
The opening ceremony was followed by a concert featuring dazzling performances that creatively combined Yunxi’s Qiqiao Festival customs, the sanxian instrument, traditional embroidery and classic love songs.
Recognized as the “Hometown of Chinese Milky Way Qixi Culture,” Yunxi county has seen its “Qixi Culture” listed in China’s fourth group of national intangible cultural heritage items.
