Saturday marked the opening of this year's Tribute to Desert Poplar autumn cultural tourism events. Stage performances, sports competitions, and study tours, as well as displays of local cuisine, specialties, folk customs, and intangible cultural heritage, are designed to help visitors explore Shaya's cultural charm and natural landscapes.

Zhou Wenhui, Party secretary of Shaya county, said in a welcome speech at the opening ceremony that the county served as an important passage on the ancient Silk Road, boasting the distinct Kucha culture and one of the world's largest and best-preserved desert poplar forests.
