Autumn has transformed the desert poplar forests of Shaya county, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, into a golden spectacle, making it the ideal time of year to appreciate the natural beauty of this land on the northern edge of the Taklimakan Desert.

Along the banks of the Tarim River, thousands of desert poplar trees stand sentinel, their robust and twisted trunks resembling calligraphy strokes. Basking in the sunlight, their hues swirl with the caress of the wind, orchestrating an autumnal symphony.
