Recently, artisans in Yangdong village, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, Guizhou, have been working around the clock to meet soaring orders for the lusheng, a traditional reed-pipe instrument loved by the Miao and Dong people. Recognized as a provincial intangible cultural heritage in 2019, lusheng crafting has grown into a thriving local industry, blending tradition and innovation while enriching ethnic cultural life across Southwest China.
