At the autumn public embroidery training class held at the Shen Embroidery Museum in Nantong, Jiangsu province, newcomers learned the timeless craft of “one stitch, one thread” under master artisans on Wednesday. For over 40 years, Shen embroidery has brought palace art to the world stage, becoming a proud cultural symbol of Jiangsu.
Shen embroidery is named after Shen Shou (1874-1921), a Suzhou embroidery master whose works are famed for their lifelikeness.
