Renowned as the "hometown of kiwifruit in China", Zhouzhi county began developing its kiwifruit industry in 1972. After over four decades of dedicated cultivation, it has independently bred more than ten premium varieties, including Qinmei, Yate, Cuixiang, and Huayou, and established a complete industrial chain encompassing planting, storage, processing, and sales.
Currently, the county boasts 26 kiwifruit processing enterprises, 2,680 cold storage facilities, and 500 specialized e-commerce companies. Its sales network spans major cities across China and reaches 26 countries and regions worldwide, including the United States, Russia, and Canada, making it a widely recognized leader in the industry.
In recent years, Zhouzhi has made the kiwifruit industry its top priority for country-level economic development. Through the vigorous implementation of the "Nine Major Enhancement Projects" for the entire industry chain, it has achieved a historic shift from scale expansion to a balanced focus on quality and profit.
Zhouzhi's kiwifruit plantations now cover 432,000 mu (about 28,800 hectares), producing over 600,000 tons of fresh fruit annually with a total output value exceeding 10 billion yuan. Around 320,000 local residents participate in the kiwifruit industry chain, and per capita annual income in key fruit-growing areas has surpassed 23,000 yuan, making the industry a major source of livelihood for farmers.
The successful conference was not only a major production-sales matchmaking event but also a showcase of the industry's innovative vitality.
Building on the momentum of the conference, Zhouzhi county will deepen its integrated "government-industry-university-research-application-finance" collaboration and accelerate the development of a modern kiwifruit industry. From germplasm conservation and smart cultivation to advanced processing and global marketing, the county aims to continue the story of how "one kiwifruit enriches a region", driving high-quality economic growth and stable income gains for local farmers.
