Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, enjoyed a festive tourism surge during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, welcoming 5.93 million overnight visitors, up 9.4 percent year on year.
The city's scenic areas received 22.64 million visits, while total tourism spending reached 19.31 billion yuan ($2.71 billion), with visitors spending an average of 1,569 yuan each.
Cultural activities such as West Lake moon boats, Song Dynasty (960-1279)-style fairs, and osmanthus-themed tours filled the city with fragrance and ancient charm. Rural experiences like "Autumn in the Fuchun Landscape" drew nearly 580,000 visitors.
Performances and concerts also fueled the economy — 741 shows attracted 550,000 spectators, while singer Zhang Jie's concerts generated 700 million yuan in related consumption.
Hangzhou issued 145 million yuan in vouchers and promoted eight friendly travel services, enhancing visitor satisfaction. Major commercial areas like Wulin Square and Qianjiang Century City reported sales growth of over 20 percent, underscoring Hangzhou's strong cultural appeal and consumer vitality.
