In Yixian county, Hebei province, a hidden hoard from the Song (960-1279) and Liao (916-1125) dynasties was discovered by chance in 1986. Dazzling gold, silver, jade, crystal, amber and ceramics in the hoard blend cultural elements of the Song and Liao, while showcasing the superb craftsmanship of artisans dating back more than a thousand years.

These treasures are now on view at the Wuhan Museum in Hubei province, alongside the museum's own masterpiece, the Song Dynasty scroll Landscape of Lofty Peaks and Pavilions, offering visitors a rare glimpse into the refined lifestyle of the past.
