Today, the Hubei Provincial Museum unveiled its spectacular exhibition on the art of Chinese lacquerware.
From the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC) to the present day, more than 180 lacquer treasures are on display — ranging from everyday objects to breathtaking works of art. Pieces come not only from Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, and Jiangsu, but also from as far away as San Francisco!
The striking contrast of fiery red and deep black makes every piece a feast for the eyes — how could anyone resist the dazzling beauty of lacquerware?
