40 years of Les Miserables on display

This year, the 40th-anniversary edition of the musical, Les Miserable: the Staged Concert Spectacle will hold 64 performances from Nov 4 to Dec 28 at the Shanghai Grand Theatre.
The first round of ticket sales began on Christmas Eve last year, and so far, 56 shows have been sold out, with a box office rate exceeding 95 per cent. Of the more than 81,000 tickets sold, 46 percent have been purchased by buyers from other provinces and cities, a strong indication of the show's impact on consumption, tourism and business growth.
