Established in 1958, the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial is a large military park that focuses on the theme of the Liaoshen Campaign. The museum is symmetrically laid out along the central axis of the memorial structures – the Victory Gate, the Liaoshen Campaign Revolutionary Martyrs’ Memorial Tower, and the main exhibition gallery.
The main exhibition gallery showcases the remarkable history of the Liaoshen Campaign, one of the three major campaigns in the War of Liberation (1946-49), consisting of a preface hall, the Hall of War Archives, the Hall of Supporting the Front, the Hall of Revolutionary Martyrs, and the Panoramic Painting Hall.
As China’s first panoramic painting hall, it is highly acclaimed as a masterpiece and a classic in the history of Chinese museums and global art history, featuring a panoramic painting titled Capturing Jinzhou.
The memorial hall has a total collection of 21,428 artifacts, including weapons, equipment, documents, and other historical materials from the campaign.
