The Memorial Hall of the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea is the only museum in China that comprehensively reflects the history of the war. It is an unmissable landmark of red culture. Nestled on the Yinghua Mountain along the Yalu River, the museum consists of a main exhibition hall, a 53-meter high memorial tower (symbolizing the victory of the war from 1950 to 1953), a panoramic painting hall, and a national defense education center, featuring more than 20,000 artifacts from the war.
With the theme of “Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, and Protect Chinese Homes and the Motherland”, the permanent exhibition is organized into 6 chapters which authentically recreate the history of the war and the movement in support of it.
The panoramic painting gallery houses a painting, titled The Encirclement and Annihilation along the Chongchon River. Through a combination of various realistic battlefield models, the hall vividly portrays the battle scenes and grand war atmosphere.
Additionally, the national defense education center displays a variety of important military equipment used during the war and in the development of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, including Soviet T-34 tank, Soviet 122-mm howitzer, and 85-mm cannon. These are very precious witnesses to the war.
