Water Cave, Benxi

Located in the east of Benxi, Liaoning province, China, Benxi Water Cave is the world's longest underground water-filled cave, it was opened to the public in 1983 and was awarded the national AAAAA tourist attraction in 2015.

Occupying a total area of 44. 72 square kilometers, Benxi water cave was formed millions of years ago. It has received the honor of being called “a treasure in the north of China”, “a wonder of the world”, “first-class scenery in Asia”, and “world rare miracle”.

The entrance is 16 meters high and 25 meters wide. The hall inside is 300 meters long, with caves scattering high and low, holes have holes inside, including many twists and turns. The stalactites on the roof and rock faces inside the cave mostly grow in groups along the fissures, forming diverse scenes. At the front of the hall is a pier leading to the water cave. The water cave is 5,800 meters long of which 2,800 meters is filled with water covering an area of 36,000 sq m. There are over 1,000 sq m of water flowing inside the cave, with enough space for 40 boats to be berthed at the same time.
