On April 18, Chongqing held a cultural tourism promotion event in Xi'an, capital city of Shaanxi province.
At the opening ceremony, a Chongqing cultural and tourism promotion officer introduced several of the city's renowned scenic attractions, including the Wuling Mountain Rift Valley, Qianjiang Zhuoshui ancient town, Pengshui Ayi River, Jinfo Mountain in Nanchuan, and Heishan Valley in Wansheng.
Chongqing Culture and Tourism Group highlighted its continued efforts in recent years to build a world-class cluster of tourist attractions, launch boutique travel routes, and promote the city's cultural and tourism brand nationwide.
To encourage interprovincial tourism, the company announced a special offer that tourists holding Xi'an ID cards can enjoy a 50 percent discount on offline tickets when they visit multiple 5A-level tourist attractions in Chongqing.
During the event, Chongqing Culture and Tourism Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shaanxi Tourism Group. The two sides will focus on three key areas of cooperation: developing and integrating cultural and tourism resources, linking brands and expanding markets, and jointly constructing projects while fostering innovation incubation.
Ran Bin, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Chongqing Culture and Tourism Group, remarked during the ceremony that Chongqing and Shaanxi are connected by the Qinling Mountains, and the civilizations have long been intertwined.
He expressed hope for deeper cooperation with leading local enterprises such as Shaanxi Tourism Investment Group, jointly developing cross-regional tourism products to achieve mutual route promotion, customer source transmission, and data sharing.
In recent years, Chongqing has welcomed over 500 million tourists annually, with visitors from Shaanxi accounting for about 6 percent — ranking second among all provinces.
Looking ahead, Chongqing aims to strengthen cooperation with Shaanxi in the cultural and tourism sectors, work together to shape a shared brand image, enhance service systems, and expand into international markets.
The event was guided by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development and hosted by the Chongqing Cultural Tourism Group.
