Jingdezhen International Ceramic Festival
Location: Jingdezhen city
Frequency: Annual
Dates: October
Jingdezhen, known as the Porcelain Capital, has been a thriving center for porcelain production with its kiln fires burning for over a thousand years.
The first Jingdezhen International Ceramic Festival was held in 1990. The festival offers a diverse range of activities. It starts with an opening ceremony, followed by an exhibition of porcelain dating to different historical periods in Jingdezhen's history. This exhibition allows visitors to trace the development of local porcelain-making over time. There's also an exhibition of works by modern, well-known porcelain masters in Jingdezhen, presenting the latest creations that blend traditional and contemporary elements. The festival also features international ceramic academic exchanges, where scholars share insights and research. Economically, it serves as a platform for economic and trade negotiations, facilitating business within the ceramic industry. Visitors can also join guided tours of historical porcelain-related sites, getting a deeper understanding of Jingdezhen's rich porcelain heritage.
