The 2025 Lintong Cultural and Tourism Fair opened on Wednesday with a lighting ceremony for Spring Festival activities at Huaqing Palace.
The events are part of the "The Year for China to Meet Lintong" Spring Festival cultural tourism series in Xi’an city, Shaanxi province.
The activities were organized by the Lintong District Culture, Tourism and Sports Bureau, and Shaanxi Huaqing Palace Cultural Tourism Co, under the guidance of Lintong district Party committee and local government.
The lively dragon and lion dance performances attracted many tourists, while, at the cultural and tourism fair, Lintong highlighted its 232 intangible cultural heritage projects through the Intangible Cultural Heritage New Year Goods Festival. By combining dynamic performances with static exhibitions of provincial and municipal traditional handicrafts and festive folk arts, a vibrant wave of intangible cultural heritage is set to sweep through this Spring Festival.
To promote cultural activities for the public, Huaqing Palace Scenic Area has introduced special offers like "free entry for Lintong residents on New Year's Eve" and "discounted tickets for Shaanxi tourists". Over a hundred captivating Tang-style cultural performances showcasing intangible heritage are being held over the holiday.
Lintong has maximized the service efficiency of public cultural facilities by offering activities in villages and communities, including Spring Festival couplets writing, countryside performances and public welfare film screenings. The district has also organized cultural, tourism and sports events including a Spring Festival variety show, a large-scale Qinqiang Opera concert, a table tennis friendly match and a Yuanxiao-themed flower arrangement, allowing people to enjoy the benefits of cultural development.
