Tongling is located on the southern bank of the Yangtze River in southern Anhui, as a beautiful mountain city with a 3,500-year history in bronze production using abundant copper and tin deposits.

Tongling, the cradle of China's splendid bronze civilization, has become China's "modern copper base", gaining influence at home and abroad with its copper handicrafts, copper commodities and bronze sculptures.

The first China Tongling Bronze Culture Festival was held in 1992 to promote bronze culture and develop the copper-related economy. The festival included a variety of activities such as an opening ceremony, cultural performances and events, exhibitions of bronze artifacts, auctions of copper treasures, international trade and investment negotiation meetings, and exhibitions of patent technologies and products.
