The Chaohu Yinping Peony Festival is set to be held again in Chaohu city, Anhui province, according to the Bureau of Tourism in Chaohu.

Yinping peony, known as "the most unusual flower in the world", is over 1,000 years old and grows from the steep cliff of the Yinpingshan Moutain which is south of the Chaohu Lake. Among other legends, it is said that the flower can indicate the weather patterns for the upcoming year.

Since 2006, the Chaohu Yinping Peony Festival has grown into a multifaceted tourism extravaganza, blending flower-viewing, tourism, entertainment, and business opportunities. The festival's offerings have become increasingly diverse. Beyond the core attraction of peony-gazing, it has featured over 20 engaging activities, including the captivating Peony Lantern Fair and the spirited Ten Thousand People Mountain Climbing and Flower Viewing Competition, adding vibrancy to the local cultural and tourism calendar.
